Lake Paradise Description
Lake Paradise is a 176 acre lake with 4.1 miles of shoreline and a maximum depth of 23 feet that offers boat fishing and picnicking opportunities. Boat motors are limited to 10 horsepower. Lake Paradise is located southwest of Mattoon in Coles County; north of Lake Mattoon, west of I-57. Lake Paradise is the smaller of two lakes at Mattoon and is the primary source of public water supply for the city. Fish Species Present: Bluegill Carp Channel Catfish Largemouth Bass Muskellunge (Muskie) Tiger Muskellunge (Tiger Muskie) White Crappie Yellow Bass Yellow Bullhead The dam for Lake Paradise is about 4 miles southwest of the City of Mattoon.The lake lies entirely in Coles County.
