ronlunatics reviewed the location Aux Sable Creek.
this is an excellent fishing spot any time of the day at the dam head east and you'll come upon a little bridge and the fishing there is AMAZING!..
you will be able to catch a wide range of fish and turtles here so even the most expeirenced anglers will have fun. a small john boat, canoe,or row boat comes in handy for most spots along the i&m canal.
bluegill, crappie, bass, cats are very previllent and will bite on a variety of baits and lures but the best chances of a bite are still on good ol' chicken livers frozen from the local bait shop. night crawlers wax worms and leeches are other good ones.
for best results fish the bottom with a 1/2 ounce sinker with a big hood b/c whatever hits will be big. for the smaller fish the wax worms and leeches will do just fine spinner baits and most jigs with my luck has come to me with no avail. a bait caster with decent ten lbs line will do good for the smaller stuff one catfishing pole with at least a twenty lbs line would be great you could probably pull off less but it could come into problems with line breaks. be carefull of snags there every where and make sure to bring sunscreen and alot of bug repelent there horrable out there hope this review sheds some light onto this spot happy fishing!!!! ohh before i forget they have a pet shop on w washington by feenies liqour calle juniors pet shop in the back of the shop is a little haven of fishing gear and baits/lures the frozen chicken livers are best here once again happy fishing!!!

This place stocks Rainbow in the spring and Cats once a week!! Brought my boy and rented a boat. The bass were hitting out cranks all morning long. Biggest caught was just over 2 lbs, but we bagged 8 total. All around nice place to bring the family, or for a day of serious fishing.

  • NOAA Charts - We have just added NOAA Charts to our Map tab as a new Background layer! We hope these charts will help all you saltwater anglers better plot and plan your next fishing trip. NOAA Disclaimer: CHARTS ARE NOT TO BE USED FOR NAVIGATIONAL PURPOSES. These charts can be used as a planning or analysis tool but may not be used as a navigational aid. Huge thanks to Marine GeoGarage for providing the map service for us to use!

  • Cabela's - We have just teamed up with Cabela's as well! Within the next few days, expect the Find Gear section to expand with gear from the Cabela's product catalog. This new addition not only makes it easy to purchase gear, but it will also help you find items you currently own and add them to your Tackle Box. We hope this new relationship makes IL Fish Finder your one-stop-shop for all your fishing needs!

  • Spread the Word - Throughout the site, we have added icons to make it easy to share your trips, locations, and posts with your friends in other social networks. These links should really help promote the site, so take the extra few seconds to help spread the word!

December 20, 2010
  • Bass Pro Shops - Just in time for the holidays, we have teamed up with Bass Pro Shops to add a new Find Gear section to the site. Now you can search for and purchase gear at discounted prices from Bass Pro Shops, while at the same time supporting IL Fish Finder. We have also developed the ability to add items to your "Tackle Box", so you can keep track of and share your gear with fellow anglers.

  • Layar Mobile App - We have just learned that our fishing locations and hotspots have been approved and published to the new Layar application available on the IPhone and Android. If you have one of these devices, you can download the Layar application to find fishing locations and hotspots using your phone's camera! We are also continuing to develop our custom Android application, so stay tuned for updates. In the meantime, we hope you enjoy using the Layar application.
April 7, 2010
  • Map Enhancements - Completely reworked the Map tab on the site. New drop down menus for the map, a location list, cleaner popups, marker management, and various performance improvements.
  • Trip Wizard - Added a Trip Wizard to make it easier to create trips! Now you can create a trip in 3 simple steps. Also, you can now define other Fish Finder users who attended the trip with you. Make them contributers so they can add photos, hotspots, and details that you might have missed.
  • Encryption - We have added RSA encryption to all login and sign up forms. It adds a couple seconds to logins, but we feel you will appreciate the extra level of security!
